Hi Dennis,

just wonder can we claim for course fee relief by attending your seminar?

Hi,

Possible only if
1) Course, seminar or conference that relates to your trade, business, profession, vocation or employment;or
2) Course, seminar or conference that does not relate to your trade, profession, vocation or employment at the time they were taken but are now relevant due to a career change.

I'm in IT line but company is financial industry, does it fall under condition 1? :)

Hi Stanlee,

unlikely so even though you can say it is subject to interpretation. Thus, if you claim the Course Fee tax relief and should IRAS check, they are likely to re-compute your income tax then.
