Real Life Example of dangers of Hot Stocks

Post by Dennis Ng »

Genting Singapore in 1 week fell from S$1.29 to S$1.10 today 26 Jan 2010, or total of 14.7%, while the broader market, STI fell by about 6.8%.

This shows to you that speculative "hot stock" such as Genting Singapore is more volatile than the average stock.

On the other hand, fundamentally strong stock such as Starhill Global REIT, fell from 56 cents to 53 cents in the same time period, or just 5.35%, and fell less than the broader market.

This is a Real Life Illustration to us that "doing homework" in selecting and choosing stocks do buy do have its payo
Cheers!
