alternate Wednesday. Yes, I'm very hard working (but since I enjoy what I do, I don't find it work nor hard).
From year 2000 till now, I work about 10 to 12 hours daily (5 days' week mostly). However, since I decided to teach what I know through seminars, and started teaching since May 2009, now I only have 1 weekend "off" each month.
I think sacrificing the weekends to teach is worth it as by doing so, I can then help more people. My wife and children also understand why I do this but of course, obviously, they hope I can be with them every weekend.

Since you know me then in year 2001 when I was not financially free yet, you know everything I shared about myself is Real and True.
I hope all my seminar graduates can do their part in helping to educate and influence your friends, family and colleagues, to urge them to learn to "Master their Finances".
My dream is 5 years from now we have 10,000 seminar graduates, and each of you just donate S$1,000 each, and together, all of us would be able to donate S$10 million to various Charities every year!
And seminar graduates also reach out through community centres, libraries, schools, etc, to conduct FREE financial workshops to the poor and less fortunate people.
I personally think doing all this can help the Society more than joining Politics, since apparently, even the government has NO solution to the "people have not enough money to retire" problem.

YES! That makes me even more eager to learn from you and sign up for all your seminars without any hesitation cause I really saw you from 2001 to now and that's just a remarkable transformation. And it's the truest success story that's so close to heart! Not to mention how you were so giving and even then out of your own time you were also sharing your knowledge through cashflow game. Like Dennis mentioned: It is more important WHO KNOW YOU than WHO YOU KNOW.
I know Dennis through the Cash Flow game he conducted for free. BUT he did not know me!
(The place was at Liang Court, River Valley Rd. I can't remember exactly when it was. Probably, it was in 2002)
From then on, I was on my own, learning myself about investment, at the same time working full time.
"Invested" in stock during 2002 high, and got burned.
I got married in 2003 and NEVER touch and look at stock again.... Two kids come in 2004 & 2005.
Then in 2007, where the market is already at its high, SUDDENLY I got the energy to learn Technical Analysis
because I believe that with TA alone it is enough to see the price movement.
So I learnt myself... then starting to look at the stock market again, "invest" here and there based on the TA alone.
I also attended a TA course which cost me $4,000!
But, as everybody experience it... as one of the crowd.... I lost again in the stock market!
Oh, mind you... I have been receiving Dennis's newsletter since I attended his Cash Flow Game,
BUT I never knew what he talked about; Sorry Dennis!
In Sep 2009, my 3rd kid come...
There it goes... Expense is going up... But hey! I have very little in my investment for future!
On 11 Nov 2009, I received his email, and really read it, it's about "How to save & accumulate S$1Million"
(Actually, I received his email regarding this as early as May 2009, but I put it aside as I am not interested, ignorant, busy, etc.)
The cost is ONLY $98 and it is a full day event with lunch and tea break!!!
And hey, he offered me to make $1Million! So I told my wife that I am going to his seminar.
(My wife was in Australia then, her exact response was, jokingly:
"why don't u go since u r so free.... see if we can learn to make 1M for me to buy istana here...")
So I attended the seminar on Sunday, 22 Nov 2009 (wow almost a year ago). Indeed it was quite insightful and open my eyes to really look into my financial situation.
But hey... I tell you one thing... at the end of that seminar he offered 3 full day seminar on stock & property for $698.
I did not take action.
He even subsequently sent email reminder on 2nd Dec 2009:
"This will be the last time we offering Special Price of S$698 for this 3 full-day Secrets To Making Money in Stocks and Property Seminar. We have included a “Bonus” (additional material) which teaches you about investing into Gold and Silver in the seminar as well."
I did not take action.
At that time I have not learnt the secret, the two simple question in investing, which he always shares during Path to Financial Freedom Workshop:
What is the UPSIDE and what is the DOWNSIDE.
Then, in June this year I received an email from him (for all his graduates):
"Would you like to help spread Financial Literacy and Get Paid Helping Others?
- Are you truly passionate in educating others about Financial Literacy while earning a Passive income?
- Would you like to continuously learn from Dennis & be surrounded with like minded Successful people that could help you achieve your goals?"
So, I joined him as Wealth Educator. We got some trainings from him and his team.
Then I started talking to my friends, colleagues... Inviting them to attend Dennis' Path to Financial Freedom workshop.
I started to sit-in during this workshop and listened to him. And this is where and when I learned and can truly INTERNALIZE
what he meant by considering UPSIDE & DOWNSIDE in investment.
Then, I told my wife that I will attend his Stock and Property workshop.
At this point, the Property and Stock workshops, the price well you know it... it is already $1,796.
So, I have to pay $1,098 higher than the one that offered in 2009!!!
But, I know for sure now that the UPSIDE is much much higher!!!!
(Mind you, next year the price can only go up not down....)
So, I attended the Property Workshop in Sep 09, and the Stock Workshop end of Oct 09.
Since I joined him as Wealth Educator, I have actually learned much more from him. Not only the Financial Literacy.
I think you may have heard him saying or discussing some of these topics; which really strike my mind:
- Conceive, Believe (100%), and Achieve.....
- What is the UPSIDE, what is the DOWNSIDE
- Don't only look for the Dividend (stock) or Rental (property) but look for the CAPITAL APPRECIATION
Oh yeah, most of all, as most all his graduates agree, he is sincere and willing to share all his knowledge!
And you can feel it when you talk to him! This is also the top reason why I joined him as Wealth Educator.
I hope my story above can be "something" for whoever read this post...
