Why I started conducting seminars since May 2009?

Post by Dennis Ng »

Do you know why I started conducting seminars since May 2009?

Becos I reached the point that I could not stand some of these seminars out there who purport to teach people how to invest into Stocks and Property.
Some of my clients paid many thousand of dollars to attend such seminars, and when they showed me the "notes" given out at such seminars, I was appalled by how little content were taught in such seminars.

SPH is one of the "lousiest" stocks in Singapore, in terms of share price performance in the last 5 years, so if someone claims he teaches people how to invest into stocks invest into such a stock, then not sure for you, I really have no confidence in this person's ability to choose stocks to invest.

It is also easy to say to pay S$0.50 to buy a stock worth S$1, however, if a person cannot explain to you in detail “how to do that”, that he/she is just blindly repeating what Benjamin Graham said in the Book “The Intelligent Investor”.

And similarly any person can repeat any "words of wisdom", but it does not mean the person understand or has grasped the wisdom.

And a person who claims he is a Value Investor, when asked what is the estimated Market Value of his property investments, ACTUALLY answered and said he has no idea.....then it really baffles me.

Becos a True Investor will keep track of his investment portfolio and at least knows the Estimated Value (need not be precisely accurate) of his investments. Only amateur or inexperienced investors would typically say something like "I don't know the market value of my investments"...
Cheers!

I really mean what I say. Some might think I'm unwise to say such things but to me, I'm just speaking straight from my heart. The only thing important to me is to answer to my Conscience, and nothing else really matters, including whether people like or hate what I say.
