Singapore is No. 1 once again...

Singapore always strives to be No. 1, and we really excel in many areas, including salaries paid to Politicians.

But of course in some countries, Politicians receive "remuneration" mainly from other "sources" (such as kick-backs and favours).

Top Asia paid politicians....(in US$):

1st: Spore PM Lee ($2.2mil)
2nd: HK Donald Tsang ($530k)
3rd: Aust Julia ($345k)
4th: NZ John ($290k)
5th: Japan Naoto ($273k)
6th: Taiwan Ma ($184k)
7th: Korea Lee ($137k)
8th: Indo Yudhoyuro ($124k)

It does not really worry us for our PM to be the best paid even if globally.

We are more concern of how stable and good he can manage Singapore.

I agree. I rather we pay them money than for them to think of ways to "take"money.

Our President is paid even more than Prime Minister. That's always weird to me.

The PM or PAP will be able to point out factually that the PM or the ministers are not the highest paid politicians on the island whenever there is a debate about their pay.
