I also own 2 Rolex Submariner. One is the same as yours and the other is the LV version i.e. green bezel and maxi dial. If you want to consider Rolex, for your next model, do consider the Daytona 16520 with Zenith movement. This is a discontinued model but can still get at pre-own shops in very good condition with original papers. Always buy Rolex Sports models in Stainless Steel !
Recall you mentioned Frank Muller. Personally I would not touch it.
Pateks can be very expensive when you go into complications. But it is the standard that all watches are measured against. In recent decade, german brand e.g Lange & Sohne, was able to match the quality and workmanship. End of the day is a personal choice, warm vs cold.

Here are links to a popular watch site
for Rolex (modern)

for patek

you may log in the forum and ask questions. Hope this helps in a small way.

Cheers !
Hi cmclee,
thanks alot.

I'm very lost leh, can you just recommend say 2 or 3 models of Patek that you think is good? (Like what you did for Rolex?) Luckily I didn't choose a wrong model for Rolex. haha.

I like this forum more and more, alot of people do NOT realise the Value of the Network (alumni) of Seminar Graduates. There are many capable and experienced people from different fields and different walks in life, that have a wealth of Knowledge and Experience to share.

I'm so glad to be able to know all of you (seminar graduates) through my seminar and I'll be looking forward to learning from all of you.
Cheers!

Hi Dennis,

One of the most popular Patek model is the Natilus. This is a stainless steel model that has limited yearly production with a elegant classical look.

The cost of this watch is about $32K, I think, judging from the conversion rates.

Another popular watch, with high resell value is Panerai. This is one of my favourite watch as it is very big, typically 44mm in diameter. This watch used to be a Italian Navy watch and made popular by Slyvester Stallone in the show DayLight.

Panerai is very popular among the Japanese, Europeans and Americans.

cheers :P

the price range (in SGD) for Pateks are as follows :

Calatrava (entry model) manual wind or automatic 22k to 30k
Nautilas stainless steel 30k to 55k
Annual Calendar 40k to 55k
World time 40k to 50k
Perpetual Calendar 75k to 95k
Chronograph 90k
Chrono + annual calendar 70k to 90k
Chrono + perpetual 170k to 200k
Double split chrono + perpetual 350k to 400k
Minute repeater 400k

above price also depends on precious metal. Yellow gold is the cheapest. Rose and White Gold same price. Whereas Platinum is another 50% of rose/white gold.

I own a calatrava 5196 yellow gold, annual calendar 5146 white gold, world time 5130 white gold, Aquanuat Jumbo 5167 stainless steel.

Depends what you like. I find it difficult to recommend. Suggest not to rush in but take your time to research. The fun is in the searching.

Not sure if you already made friends with the Authorised Dealers e.g. Cortina, hour glass..etc. In recent years, I found out that I could get the same watch at a better discount from parallel importers. Once you spot a model you really like, I could try ask around to see if can get a better price.

Cheers !

Forgot to mention earlier, you could familiarise yourself with the various Patek models at the website. It takes a few minutes to load up as it contains a lot of photos.

As the slogan says "You never actually own a Patek. You merely look after it for the next generation"
