Hi all,
I am new to investing and was wondering where can we get latest news, like taking over, merger, JV, etc? E.g 3Par buy over by HP and the price soared up 3 folds. Normally those stocks would soar especially those US stocks. so is it true that if we can get the 1st hand info, we will gain the upper hand?
Where and how can we get the latest news ?

First hand info will be you being part of the deal
Whatever information is published (website/magazine/newspaper), it would be several hands down the info chain.

When a coy share price that you happen to be monitoring, suddenly shoot up or down, there is usually some news or rumours going on.
you can use google to search, as they usually appear in one or more foreign news, financial articles, b4 hitting business times etc.
finally, you can get 2nd hand news from business times, or one of the other financial newspaper and sgx company aoouncement the next day.

actually, info is not very important. What is important is the Interpretation of Information.lootster wrote:I think everyone love to have to have first hand info on a particular stocks but the thing is how can you be sure its the first hand info?
Using Dennis words..... If someone claim to give you first hand info, he is a conman
For the last 17 years, I manage to make money from stocks on Purely 100% Public Information that needs NOT be the fastest info....if you depend on fast info, I have to disappoint you that retail investors are NOT the ones that get info First (fast).
I don't depend on having first hand info to make money in stocks.
Cheers!
